We have incorporated dedicated, illuminated art walls in our room design to feature and enhance the artist’s work. We provide this wall space free of charge to the exhibiting artist. Koi also hosts openings or receptions for exhibiting artists.

If you are interested in displaying your work in our space, contact: info@cafekoi.com.

Current Artist

Andrew Olivier

Andrew Olivier is local artist intent on using his art to explore themes of nature, aliens, singularity, and the far reaches of space as humanity plunges into the age of the science and discovery. The fascination and mystery of space in the context of our relationship to the universe serves as a small reminder of how little humans can fully grasp. Using art as a vessel to question reality and dream about the future, Olivier creates beautiful imaginary galaxies that use texture and colour to create a visceral feeling of the unexplored. Other prominent styles by him include blends of watercolour and acrylic to explore relationships between aliens, nature, humans and the effect of new technologies as we inch closer and closer to the unknown.

Before returning to his hometown of Calgary, Olivier received a diploma in Design Studies from Grant MacEwan in Edmonton and worked as a freelance artist for a year in Berlin, Germany. Currently, he owns and operates a residential painting and public art company, with notable mural works and contracts in Reykjavik, Berlin, Edmonton, The Town of Peace River and Calgary.
